SBU shows off new Morok drone that can reach 800 km

Sometimes, in order to draw attention to the long-range drone levy and the SBU, it is necessary to reveal a little bit of secret developments.

The Security Service of Ukraine has posted a reminder to raise funds for a UAV called Morok, which has a range of 800 km and will allow striking the enemy even deeper behind enemy lines.

“This will be another response to the enemy. The flight range of such drones is 800 kilometers. So, the cotton from the SBU will be even more colorful and unexpected,” the statement said.

In total, the donations will be used to create 33 such “cotton generation” facilities, which will require UAH 60 million. Thus, one Morok, possibly due to development costs, costs UAH 1.81 million 49,243, or about 50 thousand dollars.

It should be noted that the estimated cost of the Shahed-136, which is in mass production, ranges from 20 to 50 thousand dollars.

Two photos are also posted, although they look more like renderings, they may shed some light on the design of such a missile plane. Despite the rather poor quality of the images, it is possible to see that it is a UAV with an internal combustion engine located in the tail of the drone.

The aerodynamic shape of the drone is rather strange, because despite the fact that it resembles a duck, the drone has no horizontal front feathers, but a keel, and thus it is a rather rare tailless design in subsonic aviation.

And while supersonic aircraft used this scheme quite actively in the 60s and 70s, for example, in the Mirage fighter, Concorde and Tu-144 airliners, and the SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft, subsonic aircraft use the duck or flying wing scheme much more often.

But at the end of the day, we’re talking about a rendering, which doesn’t necessarily have to match the actual sample. All the more reason to reveal the details of the design to the enemy. And in this situation, it is more important that the topic of developing a missile aircraft for strikes against Russia is actively developing and is already making an important contribution to the Victory.
